Problem
Vegans easily lose track of veganism due to lack of motivation
Vegans struggle with limited recipes options. They face difficulties managing and saving recipe, comparing and deciding recipe and loses the track not being part of vegan community.
Solution
An app that will become a one-stop shop for vegan lovers
A place where they can save their recipes, read them comfortably while cooking, find inspiration and follow their friends and favorite figures from the culinary world.
,
Providing Empathy
Context
The modern 'recipe box' - this is what recipe collection looked like- a mess!

Setting Goals
Jobs to be done..
For this project we selected two target audience that we want to focus on. We created scenario for each that will help us to design our proposed product thoroughly.
New Vegan
When I’m new to veganism
I want to be a part of the vegan community
So, I can motivate myself to stay on the vegan track
And “wegan” will get me there
Experienced Vegan
When I’ve been vegan for a long time
I want to try a range of vegan recipes
So I can savor and enjoy being vegan and healthy
And “wegan” will get me there
Qualitative Data
User Research
In order to understand the problem, and the users needs we conducted a survey using Google Forms and had 45 vegans answer it and also interviewed 13 people recruited according to our target users to get better insights.

Here are some of their answers and data I collected to get answer about general recipe search and saving that helped me designed an app that would solve real struggles of target users :
Q: When running into a recipe you like on the web and want to try out, where would you save it? How would you return to it later on?
Q: When it comes to saving your recipes, what is your biggest challenge that's preventing you from accessing them easily?
70.3%
Do not save their recipes at one place
68.6%
Say that their recipes are not organized in one place
78.6%
Say they would use a recipe organizer app if they had one
Empathizing with users
Personas
We crafted two provisional personas for new vegans and experienced vegan to help us stay user-focused rather than feature-focused.
Looking for pain points
Journey Map
We created two distinct journey maps, for new vegans and experienced vegans depicting different stages they go through while planning meals.

How to Improve
Lesson Learned
1. You can't please everyone: We had some users who felt the app was fantastic and wished it was real. We also had users who felt it was "capitalistic" and not helpful and that is okay as long as we help solve a problem for the target set of users. Then maybe we try to solve the problem for the others in a different way.
2. Rely on your team and work together: By working with other people, you are less likely to be biased. My team mates provided cool and interesting ideas that I had not considered before. This led to a better product overall.
